Andre Soluri
Andre Soluri is the founder and principal of Soluri Architecture - a progressive six year old design firm based in New York and now expanding into London and India. He is an award winning architect with over 13 years of professional experience - working both behind the desk and out in the field.
A licensed architect, Andre's training and education has been interdisciplinary, in keeping with his belief that the creation of exceptional architecture requires an understanding of the many different - and often conflicting - aspects of the industry. He has had extensive experience in a broad range of firms, having worked for a dozen architects, engineers and developers before founding SA in 2004. Andre is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is currently licensed and registered to practice architecture in the US states of New York, New Jersey and Washington. He also holds a nationally recognized NCARB certificate which allows for licensure in all 50 US states and is recognized internationally. He received his undergraduate professional degree at the highly prestigious Cooper Union School of Architecture in New York City, where he won numerous awards. Andre received a Master’s degree at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture (GSAPP). Between the two schools, he studied under John Hedjuk, Peter Eisenman, Rick Scofidio, Raymond Abraham, Bernard Tschumi, Greg Pasquarelli, Manuel Delanda, Mark Wigley, and Laurie Hawkinson, among many others.
Andre divides his time between NYC and London (and is a huge fan of frequent flier programs!)
Andre has always believed that it's crucial for an architect to get his hands dirty and to understand the construction methods and issues at hand. As a result, he spent two years as a field engineer on high-rise construction projects in New York. He also operated a steel fabrication shop for several years where he designed and built furniture. The flat renovation in London represents the intersection of his professional beliefs and his personal dreams--not to mention the ultimate test of his skills!

"Aglaya"
"Aglaya" (not her real name) has lived in London most recently since 2007. Having been born in London, and with a somewhat inexplicable cultural and ideological affinity for the place despite many years living in NYC (where she met Andre), she calls London "home". In many ways she still can't quite believe the scale of what she and Andre have taken on, and the logistical and financial implications of building, literally from the floor up, a physical home to match the ideological one! "Aglaya" works in the field of economic and political analysis/consulting.
